Arkansas CW Highlights Generational Journeys Show

Sep 9, 2024

The Arkansas CW published an article today highlighting the upcoming Generational Journeys Art Exhibit, open now through October 3rd at The Medium at 214 S Main Street in Springdale. From their post:

The Medium is set to host the Generational Journeys Art Exhibit in a heartfelt tribute to James Yale’s legacy, a beloved artist who passed away a year ago. This exhibition marks the first time Yale’s artwork has been on display in over 16 years, shedding light on his immense talent and generous spirit. As an early advocate of Generational Journeys, James passionately supported the apprenticeship model, emphasizing real-world learning for young artists. He championed the collaboration between seasoned artists and tech-savvy apprentices to document and preserve the legacies of elder and disabled artists.

Generational Journeys epitomizes a unique apprenticeship program that bridges generations, enriches the educational journey of high school students, and safeguards their artistic heritage. Through meticulous documentation and archiving, this initiative ensures the enduring appreciation of our senior artists’ stories and works, fostering a timeless cultural legacy.  The exhibit opens on Thursday September the 12th with a reception from 6 pm to 8 pm.   Watch interviews below for more information about this community project.
