A couple of years ago, after I had sent my friend Kris Easterday a thank you card with the image of the Fly fisherman painting by James, she asked me if I knew where the painting The Fly Fisherman is, and if it was available.
I answered, “I don’t even have a print of it …you can frame the card.”
Every week someone contacts me with a new discovery that we post with an interview or written story. Two months ago – mystery solved. I received a Facebook message from Glenda Satterfield, who bought The Fly Fisherman and the Rainbow Trout painting from James gallery for her ex-husband at his gallery.
A flash of synchronicity rushed through me, because I was witnessing the timing of Kris Easterday, aka The Bunny, and her husband Mike coming to NWA to visit me for Easter. I then asked Glenda if we could come to her house to see the paintings. Glenda said, yes, we could make a field trip to see the paintings, but she would have family in town, so no interview. I then asked her since they were purchased for an ex, would she be willing to sell them to Kris and Mike?
What is exciting for me following up on your clues that send me on these field trips, is seeing James’ artwork for the first time in real time. And, if I am lucky, I get to capture an interview about the story behind the art.
The rest of this story has come full circle in the following interview with Kris Easterday and Mike Heckinger.
I would like to report …that the magic of paying attention to synchronicity makes everyday a great adventure.
